Attract and Retain Top Talent

The speed of change is now moving at an exponential pace. You and your team are facing pressures that continue to mount, and you’re being asked to do more with less whether you’re a corporate leader, government leader or entrepreneur.

You are the glue that holds the container of high performance. As technology advances, the need for communication and connection between you and your staff, among team members and across organizations has become an even more important ingredient for success, and frankly a differentiator in attracting and retaining talent.

How do you lead, engage, and motivate your staff to meet the challenges of today and more importantly of tomorrow?

Are you prepared? Are your leaders prepared?

Ambiance Matters!

Attracting and retaining top talent can be tricky. The cost of a poor hire can run anywhere from 30% of their annual salary upwards to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Disruptions, gossip, mistrust, disengagement among remaining staff can be byproducts of a bad hire, all of which can undermine performance at every level.

By focusing on creating the right “Ambiance” (atmosphere), organizations can intentionally design (or redesign) the right conditions to find and keep top talent. Each organization and team have their own Ambiance. Each leader also has their “Inner AmbianceTM” – inner dialogue, emotions, mindset, perspectives, history, biases – that shape their impact.

Signs that your Corporate AmbianceTM or Team AmbianceTM might need some updating or renovation:

  • Miscommunication is undermining performance
  • Lackluster employee engagement
  • Distrustful environment, distrust between employees and leaders
  • Clogged communication channels
  • Underprepared leaders
  • Employees feel disconnected from management and/or from the organizational mission
  • Unclear roles and responsibilities
  • Conflict gets in the way of performance
  • Disharmony – lack of cooperation
  • Blame game, lack of accountability
  • Waning motivation
  • Underperformance at some or many levels
  • Turnover is higher than desired
  • Can't seem to attract and keep the right people

Signs that as a Leader your Inner AmbianceTM might need to be redesigned:

  • You feel a sense of overwhelm, stress, anxiety or worry
  • You’re not as invested or engaged in your work as you once were
  • Something’s missing and you’re not sure what
  • You feel like you’re going through the motions of your days, weeks, months
  • Your inner dialogue gets in the way of being as effective as you’d like
  • Though you try, you can’t control your emotions as you’d like or need to
  • You’re not taking care of yourself like you know you should
  • The impact you’re having (on staff, colleagues, clients, etc.) doesn’t align with your intentions
